So we know the problem. Now what about the answer to the problem? Well here are some solutions to the problem. First of all we need to look at what is causing our kids to not be active. It will be a different problem for every family. It could be they are too tired because of a lack of nutritious food. Also another possibility and a lack of nutritious food frequently and throughout the day, which can cause fatigue as well. Something that may help this issue is to get the child to a Doctor, Nutritionist or personal trainer (one who has a high degree of knowledge). This way you can find out for sure if your child has specific deficiencies that could be causing their fatigue.
Another problem can be having sedentary activities easily at hand. Things like computer games, T.V. and other activities that don’t have physical activity involved. So If this is a serious issue that is starting in your house hold or you see it becoming a big problem then take some drastic measures. Throughout the games and other activities that are taking the place of physical activity. Some might say this is too much of a drastic measure to take. However if you really want to solve this issue this is what you have to do.
Now what physical activities can you do that replace a sedentary lifestyle. The first step to take is to find out what options are in your area. There are many camps for sports teams or dance teams. You just need to Google soccer or dance and many options will pop up on your computer. Another option is to go to your local gym and find out if there are any kid programs. Sometimes they have a “active kids” program that promote keeping kids healthy. Other options would be to just invest in a bike for your kids. For the whole family! If you get the whole family involved then you are more likely to have not only healthy kids but healthy parents and a healthy environment. All of these things promote health and longevity. Some other tips would be, roller blades/skates, skate board, basketball hoop, trampoline, jump robe, scooter, jungle gym. All of these things are fun and they promote physical activity. Your kids will be active and just think they are playing. Isn’t it sad that we call “exercise” now days what people 30years ago just called “play”. But that’s the reality of it. The way things are today for our kids, we have to help them stay physically healthy by pushing exercise. However it’s important to understand that you need to do this in a careful manner. You can cause other issues for your kids if you constantly nag them about what they are eating and that they need to exercise. So it is important to note that you need to slowly incorporate changes and not make a child feel bad for how he looks. It might be a slow process, but it should be changes that the whole family make to have a long term healthy habits.
